The Lord is a Man of War!

by - February 19, 2025

To put the scattered texts below in context - :) This video shows the song titled 'The Lord is a Man of War' - done by a batch of the University Choir, KNUST. This beautiful rendition was by a batch that followed ours; ours was the batch that left KNUST in 2008. In this Facebook convo below, we were reminiscing on this same song, done by soloists 'Timba Wulf" (A Nigerian) and Ato Oppong Sagoe (A Ghanaian), at the Great Hall.

"

Me: I still remember it done by Timba Wulf....

Me: Timba Wulf and Ato Oppong Sagoe...you're missed, loved and appreciated. Timba Wulf, I always remember the seriousness with which you learnt and sang songs, especially the complex Ghanaian language compositions. I tell people "I've met a Nigerian who sings Ghanaian songs with much more precision, passion and meaning than some of us do". Hugs your way my dear. 🙂

Me: Timba Wulf, I just had to dig this out (referring to photo below). Great Hall...before the first edition of Israel in Egypt...memories...God has been good...truly a Man of War! Lord is His Name!

Me with Timba Wulf

Omus (Nigerian Chorister): -  "I remember how Tim would spend extra hours rehearsing Ghanaian songs just to get the pronunciations right."

Me: You put in your best to put smiles on the King's face.🙂...May the Lord remember you concerning this. You'll keep shining everywhere you go....a city set on a hill cannot be hid. Amen.

Tim: - "Awwww, I so remember that duet now with Ato. It was grand. It so impressed the audience that someone donated a $100 on the spot for us to repeat it.. Thanks for the sweet memories Mawunyo. I miss you all as well 😃"
