Day of the first known mobile phone conversation...
April 3 is a special day in the world of telecommunications, as this is the day the first known mobile phone conversation took place...Remember that in 1973, there weren't cordless telephones or cellular phones...we haven't stopped talking, texting and tweeting since.
Today, the 40th anniversary of the event, Martin Cooper, the engineer who made the first call on 3 April, 1973, was honoured with the 2013 Marconi Prize, recognizing his contributions to the world of telecommunications. Since then, mobile phones have come a long way, with over 6 billion reported mobile devices around the world, with the growth showing no signs of slowing down.
Martin Cooper - "Well, we knew that someday everybody would have a [cell] phone, but it was hard to imagine that that would happen in my lifetime."...Cooper is now 84 and is still working in Silicon Valley...
#Don't put your dreams in a cupboard...dream big...the 'hard to imagine' stuff are possible in your lifetime...to him that believeth, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE!
Selah.
