Yesterday, Missions Week 2017 was launched at Agape House New Testament Church with a sermon by Evangelist Prince. Selflessness, Sharing and Serving are the three points we focused on. As we focus on missions, we sometimes forget that it's not only about those 'outside the fold of Christ'. Our brothers and sisters in the family of faith also need us to share with them and encourage them regularly. We should be intentional about visiting, writing encouraging notes and letters, sharing our home, time and knowledge with others, etc. This 'ministry' takes a lot of effort but we are Jesus' hands and feet.
Acts 4:32-37 All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had. With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all that there were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned land or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales and put it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to anyone who had need. Joseph, a Levite from Cyprus, whom the apostles called Barnabas which means “son of encouragement”, sold a field he owned and brought the money and put it at the apostles’ feet.
Dear Lord, make us 'encouragers' in our generation. May we be intentional about speaking life to our brethren. Prompt us always, speak through us...our lives, our home, our time, etc are available to You. Have Your way in us, in Jesus' Name. Amen.
