Thoughts and words of a Ghanaian lady who loves God and people, places and memories...
and in loving memory of one of her favourite bloggers, Sidney Nii Sai Schandorf.

"You are as much serving God in looking after your own children, and training them up in God's fear, and minding the house, and making your household a church for God, as you would be if you had been called to lead an army to battle for the Lord of hosts." -Charles Spurgeon

"It’s been proven that most people who will come to Christ do so when they are young. The childhood years are the years of greatest opportunity for the Gospel."

What are we doing as parents, friends, aunties, uncles, grandparents, etc. to point the next generation to Christ? Every seed matters. This call is not only to the Church. We are all involved. May a child in our lives...one day...have cause to say..."thank you for giving to the Lord." March 20, 2019 FB

@The Milan Cathedral (Duomo di Milano) 2016

While there are no hard and fast rules
We should always keep in mind that
God cannot be mocked
We can deceive everyone else but God
He sees, hears & knows it all

Some of us fidget with our phones in Church
When asked, we say our Bible app is open
Or that we're sending the sermon to a friend...
What about the notifications from other apps which pop up while we're doing the 'holy' stuff?
Do we ignore them? Are we distracted by them? Do we distract the person next to us as we 'smartly' switch from pictures, to breaking news, and then back to the Bible?

The Milan Cathedral took nearly 6 centuries to build!

Priests and Pastors could give us some guidelines, but at the end of the day, we need to be true to ourselves and to God.

Our congregations could put up some notices about how we should conduct ourselves in church, for example 'put all phones on silent', 'do not noisily chew gum', etc....but at the end of it all, it boils down to us. Do our actions or inactions take others' minds off their main purpose of joining a service?

'Twisting' some words of Jimmy Needham in the song titled 'Clear the stage' - "you can sing all you want to and still get it wrong; worship is more than a song".....I write, 'we can sit in church all we want to and still get it wrong...worship is more than 'ticking attendance sheets' on Saturdays or Sundays....after all -

"It's not a building God wants to fill, it's our hearts...and lives...and attitudes...and conduct everywhere...that's what He's wanted all along" (words coined from 'Come Again' - song by Elevation Worship & Maverick City Music)

Watch from 4:00.....

"It's not a building You wanna fill, it's my heart This empty space, is what You wanted all along It's not a building You wanna fill, it's my heart This empty space, is what You wanted all along"

***Fun fact: The Milan Cathedral took nearly six centuries to complete: construction began in 1386, and the final details were completed in 1965. It is the largest church in the Italian Republic—and the third largest in the world.*** -Wikipedia
