Tonight i celebrate Christians who are going through tough times but are keeping the faith and are still hopeful. God didn't say it'll all be a 'happily-ever-after story', but He's promised to be with us through it all. We won't always be on the mountain but thank God He never leaves us in the valley or in the muddy waters! Keep the faith! Keep smiling! Keep going!
64-year-old endurance swimmer Diana Nyad on Monday 2nd September 2013 became the first person to swim from Cuba to Florida without a shark cage, willing her way to a Key West beach just before 2 p.m. ET., nearly 53 hours after jumping into the ocean in Havana for her fifth try in 35 years!
Nyad said she was 8 years old when she first dreamed about swimming across the Straits of Florida. It took Nyad 56 years to realize her dream, and it meant her trying 5 times- plus her determination not to let storm, jellyfish, nausea or utter fatigue stop her!
Let nothing stop you from pursuing that dream God has placed in your heart…for even if it tarries, it shall surely come! Nyad said to tell you "it's never too late to chase your dream."
“Wait on the LORD;
Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart;
Wait, I say, on the LORD!” Psalm 27:14

Will having more money make us kinder? No...i don't think so. What i usually say about tithing for instance, is that, if it is difficult for me to give Ghs 20 as tithe out of a Ghs 200 salary, then i don't know how i'll manage to give Ghs 2000 when i start earning Ghs 20,000. I believe kindness stems out of a person's character and not necessarily one's resources. So no matter how small what we have may seem, let's be kind.
Singing the third stanza of one of my favourite hymns (Saviour, Thy dying love - MHB 579):
"Give me a faithful heart, likeness to Thee,
That each departing day henceforth may see...
Some work of love begun, some deed of kindness done,
Some wanderer sought and won -
Something for Thee. "
