"Honour your parents"...there's no age limit given for this 'command'. We are to honour them whether we live with them, or have moved from home, or have started our own new families. 

(1) Accept your parents - Now, acceptance doesn’t mean ignoring their mistakes but that you accept their God-given role in your life. God gave your parents a role that regardless of their parenting skills you cannot debate or overlook.

(2) Accept their mistakes - and, acceptance includes forgiveness. You honor your parents when you choose to forgive them where they did wrong and focus on the things they did right. 

(3) Appreciate them! - One day they’ll not be with you any longer and you will have no more chances to honor them. So, why not communicate your love- today.
